Joel Roettger, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, graduated
summa cum laude from the University
of Tennessee in 1997 with a degree in Finance. He
later attended the University
of Tennessee College of Law, where he served as
the synopsis editor for Transactions: The Tennessee
Journal of Business Law and was president of the Business
and Tax Law Association. Additionally, Mr. Roettger
received Academic Excellence Awards in Constitutional
Law, Criminal Procedure I, and Income Taxation of Business
Organizations. Mr. Roettger earned his Doctorate of
Jurisprudence degree cum laude, with a Business Transactions
Concentration in May 2000.
After law school, Mr. Roettger received a Master of
Laws (LL.M.) degree in Taxation from the University
of Florida.
Mr. Roettger has been admitted and is currently licensed
to practice law in all Tennessee courts. He is a member
of the Knoxville
and Tennessee
Bar Associations, as well as the Knoxville Estate Planning
Council. Additionally, Mr. Roettger frequently speaks
to lawyer and lay groups on matters relating to estate
planning and estate administration, and he is a participant
in the Knoxville
Bar Association’s Nonprofit Program.
