John G. Brock
John G. Brock, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee, attended the University of Tennessee (B.A., 1993; J.D., 1996), where he was a recipient of the Torchbearer award, the school’s highest student honor. Mr. Brock represents lending institutions, businesses and business owners in transactions of all types, including material transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, financings and capital market transactions, securities offerings, reorganizations, and real estate matters. He regularly counsels boards and executive management teams on governance issues, investigations and litigation.
Mr. Brock has also served as both in-house and outside general counsel and strategic adviser to Internet-based media companies and other high-growth entities in day-to-day operational matters. While based in Knoxville, he routinely represents entities located in other parts of the U.S. with national and international operations. His past experience includes some of the area’s largest and more complex transactions, including the sale of Clayton Homes, Inc. to Berkshire Hathaway, Inc.
Mr. Brock also represents or serves as a board member, officer or committee member to various non-profit organizations on a pro bono basis. He has also coached numerous youth baseball and basketball teams.
Mr. Brock has been admitted and is currently licensed to practice law in all Tennessee courts and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. He is a member of the Knoxville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations.
